I know the obvious answer- yes

What I want to know is how long should I wait in between?

And I'm broke right now so telling me to go to a salon won't help :)

I tryed to touch up my blond roots 3 days ago and didn't like the color so today I put strawberry blond over it, Im satisfied with the results but want to go darker red - how long should I wait till I do this?

I always use professional products.

Oh and do you think my avatar should color her hair red too?

Most professionals dont practice what they preach so i will give you an honest professional opinion. If you want to go a darker red, use a semi-permanent. If you really want the darker red to stay use a permanent but they are more damaging to the hair. No matter what you decide, I would recommend an Omni-pak for after. Its a really good repair treatment for damaged hair

you should probably wait 2 weeks at a minimum and try using a semi-permanant color after the two weeks. it will slowly deposit the color and strenghten your hair before you go for the permant color.

Well, the obvious answer is coming from me, yes. I don't think you should color your hair too often. Don't worry about touching up your roots. Your natural color is more important than changing it. I've gone through that, when nothing looked right on my head, and then i just went back to my original brown, and i'm as happy with my hair as ever!

Making your hair darker is gentle on the hair. Lightening hair is when you can get into trouble.

So go ahead %26amp; darken it. Be careful not to get it too dark %26amp; if it's long it could take the color differently towards the ends.

Also the red won't stay well on hair that has been lightened.

I would wait a little a few weeks before doing it again. using a darker color is less damaging if you don't use a color that lifts then darkens. go to a beauty supply store and ask the clerk to help you find a gentle color that will only darken and not lift the color first.

If your hair feels normal to you and is not getting tangles more than usual you can color it as soon as possible. However, this is not a green light to go crazy. On average roots should be touched up every 4-6 weeks. When doing a retouch ONLY do the roots. if the color at the ends is faded you may run the color through the ends foe the last 5 minutes of the processing time. If it is left on the ends the entire processing time you will be left with muddy damaged ends

Wait at least 30 days in between or your will fry your hair causing it to break, frizz, and fall out. Even worst the chemicals will react to each other and create colors that do not even exist.
