Does coloring your hair lead to hair loss?

My friend swears that putting color or highlights in your hair can lead to some hair loss. Is this true?

Does coloring your hair lead to hair loss?

Not exactly. It depends on how strong or sensitive your hair is to these products. However, coloring your hair numerous times can cause it to be so brittle that it may eventually fall out of your head. I'm not syaing it will, but it might. It's just a speculation. So you can go ahead and do it. It's up to you, but I would use it in moderation just to be on the safe side.

If you strip your hair repeatedly, eventually, yes. It will become so weak it will break off in your hands, or the shower. Highlights...I'd call a salon and ask them about longterm use.

Yes it can. Excessive amounts of hair dyeing over a long period of time can be the cause of hair loss.

Colouring your hair makes your hair become very dry, even when using conditioners etc... eventually hair becomes very brittle and then falls out.

Does coloring your hair lead to hair loss?

Generally no, colouring your hair is fine. But repetitive colouring, especially with harsh paroxides can cause your hair to become brittle and fall out. Also if you have sensitive skin it could cause a nasty sculp rash that could lead to hair loss. Always remember to test your Dye on your beforehand to see if you are sensitive to it. Also buy good quality dyes even if they are a tad bit more expensive.
