i have black hair..i am triying heena powder..the powder is green in color..is my hair going to turn black or brown or ??

no, your hair won't turn green, it usually says what color the henna is on the package, but normally it's red. if your is black, it really won't do much in terms of color the first usage, but you'll get a red tint, but you still get the AMAZING mosturizing benefits of it. Usually you should leave henna in your hair for about 3-4hrs, longer if you want, but its up to you.

Steps:

1) Take your henna powder and mix it w/half lemon juice and half water untill the mixture is about the thickness of yogurt or mud

2) Let it sit in someplace warm (garage, on top of fridge, cable box, etc) for at least 8hrs, over night is usually best, make sure u cover it in plastic wrap and that you use a PLASTIC bowl (ziploc or glad box or somethin)

3) Go to your bathroom (preferably tile) and cover everything w/newspaper and wear old clothes u don't mind getting stained

4) Take the mixture, there should be a layer of thick green stuff on top (that's the dye and is totally normal it should happen), mix the mixture together

5) Put on some gloves and start spreadin it in your hair

6) Cover your hair w/a shower cap and then just relax for about 3-4hrs (more if you'd like), the longer the mixture's in your hair, the more dramatic the results

If your hair has been chemically died, PLEASE do a strand test, only because if you have compound henna it'll turn your hair an ugly sewage color, but if you have body art henna, it'll be fine, so just check to be safe

If you have left over henna you can freeze it for future use

Your hair's gonna smell kinda like straw for a few days, but it'll pass, you can add some drop of lavendar water to the mixture to help the smell if you'd like

I asked my stylist about henna once, and she had a horrified look on her face. I don't think she's a fan of it bc if you later dye with other products, you can end up with very unpredictable results.
