Can I color my hair blonde with store bought color when Ive been coloring it and its a deep red now?

My normal hair is blonde. I've colored it from bleach blonde to dark brown. Now, just 5 days ago I wanted a reddish color since I've never had that, it turned out...interesting not exactly how i wanted. The color was rougue noir. It's not for me and now I kinda want to go blonde without spending lots of money. So can I just go out and buy blonde color? Or maybe not even blonde can I color it brown?

Can I color my hair blonde with store bought color when Ive been coloring it and its a deep red now?

ok, wow... if you try to dye your hair blonde at home.. you are CRAZY. It will turn out so ugly you wont know what to do. There will be blotches EVERYWHERE... it will be orange.. it will be a mess. Do you know what the heck your doing to your hair with all this coloring?

The only way you can make this better at home is go darker.. you can NEVER go lighter at home and it look ok.

I suggest you get a dark brown.. dye your hair that.. and keep it that way. Your hair is gonna look so fried and nasty if yyou dont stop

Can I color my hair blonde with store bought color when Ive been coloring it and its a deep red now?

For right now you may want to try a semi permanent hair color.

#1 rule in coloring hair even for we professionals is COLOR DOES NOT REMOVE COLOR....In other words a box of color is not going to turn out like the color on the box, when you already have a color on your hair especially when you want to go lighter. Your hair will come up unnatural colors! You will be surprised and in a mess. Sally Beauty Supply....Radiance By Clairol is a great cover up color and a conditioning treatment for your hair. Don't choose a color too dark, as you may hate it go in easy, try a light to med brown. It will also wash out easier. Look at the dark blondes also, see if they are darker than what you have now.

Definitely go with brown if you're going the home route. Depending on the red, a professional may be able to get you blonde, but not without spending A LOT of cash.

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

I have stick straight hair, curls just do not hold, and blowdried volume goes flat in less than an hour. I am low maintenance, meaning I like to spend less than 15 minutes on hair in the morning, so my cuts do tend to be more basic.

I was wondering if adding color would help my hair. I've noticed that my hair has changed as I passed through my teenage years, and has lost some bounce.

I use bumble%26amp;bumble volume shampoo and styling spray.

Also, I have dark brown hair. It is now January. Lowlights or highlights??

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

Colouring your hair changes its texture. It makes the surface of each indivdual hair rougher, as it has been chemically treated and made to be porous.

This does tend to add volume and texture to flat, straight hair like yours and mine (I can't curl my hair and have it last more than an hour, no matter what I do unless I spend at least 2 and a half hours doing it... And I know what I'm talking about, I'm a hair guru.. ).

If you are low maintainance, you should take into consideration that to prevent regrowth you would nee to re-dye your hair every 6 weeks to keep it in premium condition, and also up the amount of conditioner you use on your ends (a leave in conditioner is a MUST).

If you do decide to colour I suggest going with a block if you want to have maximum effect on the texture and volume of your hair... I'de go no more than one shade lighter or darker to begin with either.... If you have super dark eyebrows go darker, if not, lighter all the way - winter is on its way out in the clothing retailers!

Best of luck!

highlights, but be careful if you color your hair alot it will get fried

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

Depending on your coloring, you could go with a auburn or carmel-colored highlights. You would definitely get more texture from them. The way i understand it, the hair shaft kind of expands or swells from the chemicals.

Best bet -- go to a salon for at least the first highlighting session. There are do-at-home highlights, but it can be really hard to get it right, and you can look BAD unless you really know what you are doing!

Good luck -- highlights can really add dimension and life to your hair!

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

be careful with highlights

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

well color will not add volume or texture...with the acception of that lovely fried and dried out feeling, and you really don't want that.

if you are looking for volume, try Dove's volumizing mouse. After you get out the shower, put some in your hair and blow dry your hair with a big roller brush or blow dryer you hair upside down. This will add some volume.

Also my hair does not hold a curl to save it's life if I use a curling iron. As soon as I'm done, 15 minutes later it goes flat. The only way my curls will stay is if I curl it with a flat iron. yes a flat iron. I will do the mouse thing and blow dry it upside down and then I will take a flat iron and curl it all backwards to the back of my head and curl my hand just like a curling iron. It makes a really nice big curl and it stays all day long.

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

Your hair is like mine it sounds. Color won't add texture or volume, but it can add shine! Well, it might look like texture if you leave the stuff on too long, but that would be the result of frying your hair. Volume you can only get by adding product to your hair and using a large round brush.

Highlights definitely. 3-4 shades lighter than your natural hair color. Make sure they work with your cut and show when you style your hair.

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

I have always had very thick course hair and I highlighted my hair for close to 8 years and i don't think it adds any volume. As far as highlights I would wait until at least spring. I have dark hair also and for the eight years I colored my hair it was blonde!!!I I think dark hair since the middle of 07 and now is in, so I would wait for spring or summer!!

Will coloring my hair add texture? or volume?

Coloring you hair will not help with volume or texture. It would just do more damage to your hair. Try using a different kind of shampoo/styling spray.

Coloring my hair, please help?

Okay...you need to go to a sylist..don't try to do it on your own..trust me..it wont come out how you want it..

You don'y wanna do an all over blonde..i honestly don't think that it willdo you any justice..i suggest you get some heavy foiling done throught the front panels of your hair and a few underneath, so that when you put your hair up it will be blonde underneath as well...have fun with it..but you really ought to consult with a professional..

Coloring my hair, please help?

die it med blond and you will be great

Coloring my hair, please help?

It would look really cute if you dye it a dirty blonde color with really light blonde highlights, and straighten it!

That is what I would do. It would look pretty awesome on you!

Hope this helps!

Good luck! :)

Coloring my hair, please help?

Well the first question is do you really want to dye your hair that light this time a year. Usually people tend to dye it darker for the winter, blone is more of a beginning of the summer look. GO to a salon and talk to a stylist they will let you know what color is going to look best on you... GOod Luck

Coloring my hair, please help?

Her Hair is like a honey brown. My advice is for you to do some blonde chunks( golden blonde) mixed with your brown and you should get a really nice color that would work for your face./skin color.

Coloring my hair, please help?

I would go a shade or two darker than Lauren Conrad. It will compliment your skin town better

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

When you lighten your hair, should you dye it first to lighten then bleach with highlights? or the other way around?

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

lighten hair first to remove current color then dye desired color then apply highlights

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

highlight first, then color the whole thing to get even and better results

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

When I had my hair done (my hair is black, but I wanted a blond highlight) my stylist lighten my hair to a mocha brown and then did the highlights. She said this was so she could tell how light the highlights needed to be to get what I wanted.

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

The other way around

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

lighten hair up then do highlights, I have a friend that did not color her, What she did was get high lights ever four week by the end of the year her hair was amazingly beautifully and light

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

1. Make sure Your hair is in good condition. Give it a good conditioning a few days before. Peroxide is a *****!

2. How dark is Your hair?

3. If You have black hair, You will have to have it processed(take all the color out)

4. Nice N'easy and L'Oreal have wonderful shades.

5. Dye first with intended shade, then use a streaking method

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

It's easy. Go to a salon. They do it for you.

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

First you should bleach it wherever you want the highlights, but make sure you keep an eye on it. Once it is as light as you want it you can leave it or put a toner over it to make the color more vibrant. While the bleach is in, you can color the rest of your hair so you can rinse it all at once.

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

Catnipgirl is right. It does depend on how dark your hair is before you dye it. But the good news? They have dyes now that can lighten your hair before you do anything else to it. If you decide to highlight then dye, the highlight is going to be dyed an even light shade later (obviously); but if you dye a shade light, then highlight, the only shade the highlights will be is close to what you were aiming for.

I subscribe to their free seasonal mailing on the tips, and they are GREAT (most are from male stylists with years of experience and who know how to get the at-home look)

When Coloring Hair, Which should you do first?

Depends on your natural hair color, but lightening your hair and then highlights will damage it beyond repair. Sure you can use products to make it look good but it will still be damaged. You should do gradual highlights in several processes, instead of damaging your hair with a double process. As your hair gets lighter from highlights, then you will do highlights and low lights at the same time to give it a several shades. After highlights go to Sally's Beauty Supply and buy a product by Apogee. You want the repair serum it is in a white and purple bottle and the conditioner to go with it. You apply it to washed hair and then blow dry, it smells and hardens on your head, then you rinse and apply the conditioner, this will make your hair feel brand new and healthy for 6 weeks. It is good for anyone who highlights their hair. Good Luck

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

Two months ago I died my hair back to back days with box color. I think I used too much solution each time as well. Ever since my hair has been dryed and falling out when ever I wash or style my hair. Is there any product I can use to stop the hair thinning? I beginning to look bald! Or am I possibly just balding (I am a 23 year old male.) Any suggestions will help!

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

get a really short hair cut and condition your hair loads!

hope i helped!

please answer my question

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

You might want to go to a salon. They have special shampoos and plus experience. They could probably tell you if it is just you balding or the products...could be either. But I would go to one that seems a little nicer...where the ladies (and gentlemen) seem to have experience and aren't right out of the beauty school.

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

Maybe stop using box coloring? Lol.

Sorry, had to point out the obvious.

Go to a salon.

There stuff is way better.

And it's your hair, you have to take care of it right even if it is a bit more expensive. :]

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

well it all depends what kind of box color you used and if you say you think you used too much developer..didnt it come pre-measured and pretty much ready to go? i would say that for future reference.. try NEVER to color your hair back to back in 2 days, leave it some breathing room ;p i recommend deep conditioning treatments then maybe just trim as much of the damaged hair as you can untill its all been cut away.. you can go to any salon really and they will know what to do or at least they should ^.^

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

the chemicals that were in the box colored didnt really go well with your hair, obviously. try going to a professional salon to see what they say. they will probably just tell you to buy some products that they have at the store.

i went through this problem too. when i would take a shower, my hair would just come out in clumps. it was gross. if you straighten your hair, make sure its on a lower heat, because then that wont help at all.or you can buy hair vitamins, you can get them at a health food store, they helped me.

if you just want shampoo, you can use tail and mane, its not for horses, dont worry. but it does make your hair really strong and repairs the damage.

good luck =]

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

Get a fresh hair cut.

Purchase a deep conditioner that you will apply once a week.

Use mayonnaise in your hair once a week as well. Even though the smell is bad, it really helps.

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

well 1st of all dying back 2 back isn't safe. ur suppose to give ur hair at least 2-4wks before dying again. why didn't u dye then use a rinse?

I think u should shave all your hair off so that all the chemically treated hair is gone and then let all the unchemically treated hair grow in and next time see a professional

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

No wonder! You're are practically killing your hair! I'd go to a hair colorist immediately that specializes in these kind of disasters (yes, they're actually people who do that for a living, and make good money for it.) Read this blog (rant) about this.

Hope I helped!

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

Nothing you did on top will affect the amount of hair you have growning from under your skin. what you are seeing now is the lack of hair from breakage. Just leave it alone, and let it grow back out. Hair grows between 1/2 to an inch a month depending on your genetics.

Box coloring my hair has made my hair fall out for the past two months. Any suggestions?

Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Cut and coloring my hair?

Okay, I have NOO idea what color I want to dye my hair. I know that I can ask my stylist but I dont like the way she dyes my hair anymore. (Im working on finding a new hair dresser) ANYWAYS. I have longgg brown hair and my face is oval shaped and I am kinda pale with brown eyes. Also, how should I cut it?

Does anyone know a GOOD hairdresser in the New Hampshire // Mass area? I dont care how much it costs I need a new one fast!

Thanks for you who actually answer all of my questions!

Cut and coloring my hair?

I think that you should layer it and add an all-over copper or chestnut tint to make your hair look more vibrant, and to give your tone more color especially if you are pale. Reddish tones look really good! Good luck :)

Cut and coloring my hair?

kigitu efro' ebilipo cumero "shtong frotlo" espreo!!

Cut and coloring my hair?

keep it to the darker tones you don't wanna do anything drastic, yet don't go blonde or it will make your hair fall out,go with a mahogony of aubern maybe a little redder or darker it depends on your style

Dying/Coloring My Hair.?

I'm 19, white, and with an oval-esque face. My hair right now is getting on the longer side, and since I have naturally wavy hair I think it's starting to look pretty scruffy, thus I'm getting it cut in a couple days. I was looking to get a new style, but I'm not sure

what to do with it, so I'm taking any ideas people may have. My color is a dark blonde or a light brown, call it what you will.

Should I leave the color or try something new? What about for a style? What do you think, girls? Who's got a style that you like?

Dying/Coloring My Hair.?

My suggestion would be to remain natural. I think it is always more flattering. Stick with a style that is natural also. Not one that you have to try to train your hair in a different way than it wants to go. It will be much easier to take care of, and most of the time it is the most flattering to the person also.

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

I have some blond in my hair, and i want to know what it would look like colored. Does anyone know if it works?? See, i want to dye the blonde in my hair (rest of hair dark brown) but i dont want to do it permenatly in case i dont like. If it does work, does it wash out? And when? And would using the stratener help/hurt the color?

dont tell me how much straitening my hair hurts it! i already know and im willing to take the risk!

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

why dont you just use temporary dye...sharpie doesnt sound too flattering.

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

What???!!!!.. ive never heard of that before..I would imagine that you'd get slightly dizzy from the fumes!!.. lol.. I would stick to the daily hair color dyes.. you can put them on and wash them off of the same day.. that way if you like it you can go prermanent, and if you don't you can wash it off!!,,

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

it washes out ive done it but if you have blonde hair i would reccommend washable markers (yes the school kind) ive tryed it and it works both ways but i like the washable kind better

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

Why don't you try a washable hairdye instead? Or go to a salon and get it tested?

Sharpie on your hair? Have you smelled it? It's gross!

Don't listen to your friend's advice on putting a sharpie to your hair. Go to a salon unless you want Britney Spears' hair.

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

it washes straight out.

i just did it yesterday.

it looks nice for a day, but then as soon as you shampoo or rinse, it's gone.

Does coloring your hair with Sharpie marker really work?

I've done it between colorings. It's a good emergency quick fix

Need advice with coloring hair?

For anyone on last night to help me work through my delimea about my hair - I have made up my mind to go way short. Hey, growing up has forced me into loosing the piercings and I have never wanted a tatoo sober, so doing something outrageous with my hair --- SAYS IT ALL. Right?

Anyways, I failed to mention that at the moment my hair has hot pink highlights with all the other drama, so in order to get a professional job - I must go back naturally medium brown. BUT, again, I want to pust the envolope - so, after dying it brown how soon can I add some blonde highlights?

Need advice with coloring hair?

After coloring your hair, you should wait 2 weeks, before adding more colors.

Need advice with coloring hair?

just shave it

Need advice with coloring hair?

If you go to the salon you can do it all at the same time.

Need advice with coloring hair?

I would wait at least 2-3 weeks

Need advice with coloring hair?

immeadietly. there is no rule about that. u might want to wash it in between though.

Need advice with coloring hair?

NATURAL IS BETTER ,,, WASH AND CONDITION IT WILL HELP .

Need advice with coloring hair?

They can foil it so you don't have to double process. Get someone who knows what they are doing. It can be done all at once, and is less damaging then dying and the highlighting over it. It will be one step to each hair strand instead of two, on already processed hair.

Need advice with coloring hair?

Well....I have the same problem! I have bark brown hair so if I get blonde highlightes my hair turn red! So.. if you have dark brown hair I suggest you dont get blonde ~!highlites!~!

Need advice with coloring hair?

I used a product that you use immediately after colouring your hair. The only problem is that blonde isn't one of the colours that worked on brown. I think that mahogany and copper were the colours that you got. They were very nice hight-lights though. It is Garnier Multi-Lights.

Need advice with coloring hair?

i suggest waiting at least two weeks but a month would be better and go to your salon and get some professional conditioning treatments in between it really will help make your hair look and feel sexier, for a cond at home try biolage cond balm , its pricey but a little goes along way and rinse any cond out in cooler water than you shampooed in it closes the cuticle over the cond molecule so that it works from the inside out, instead of rinsing down the drain, good luck babe

Need advice with coloring hair?

I think that you should push the envelope with your hair if you feel like it. You are young and you can still pick something trendy that looks professional. I have an extremely serious job but I do like to have modern hair styles and colour (nothing too crazy, but I certainly don't want to look like an old lady).

My suggestion is that you choose a very good hairdresser and let them guide you. I know that it may seem like a large outlay of money, but, if you look great, you will increase your chances of landing that dream job!

Need advice with coloring hair?

first they are going to have to either strip the pink out or dye it darker brown, you can put in blonde hl'swhen you color it broen. take care of your hair or it is going to be so dry and ugly. dont wash it every day and use a deep cond. and a daily cond. also use a heat protector if you are using a flat iron of curler alot.

Coloring hair when greased?

i haven't washed my days in about 2-3 days and it's getting kinda greased and shiny.. Yuckie. Neways, Tonight i need to fill in my roots but am just wondering if anyone know if i can do this with my hair the way it is or if i should wash it before and then wash it when i rinse it?? I just didn't know if it's gonna make a difference?

Thanks

Coloring hair when greased?

You really shouldn閳ユ獩 try to dye your hair within 24 hours of conditioning your hair. The oils from the conditioner can interfere with the dye. You also shouldn't dye hair when its REALLY dirty either. Excessive oil from dirty hair will interfere with the dye as well. It really depends on how dirty your hair is. You don't want your hair clean because your scalp will be way to sensitive to the chemical's. Although, 2-3 days isn't dirty enough to interfier with the dying process. so dye away!!

Coloring hair when greased?

You should leave it greasy. I have dyed my hair at home probally a hundred times and the directions always said apply to dry unwashed hair

Coloring hair when greased?

It probably will

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt & pepper color?

I'm only 33, but I've been graying since I was 25. My hair is half gray, half black now. I color it back to my natural dark brown/black color, but I wonder if I should stop and just accept my natural color. Can women be attractive with graying hair?

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

Sure, there are lots of attractive woman out there with graying hair. It should be your choice, do what you want.

I always thought I could go gray gracefully, but I can't. My high school reunion is coming up, I had a grade school reunion, and I just changed jobs. I needed to look a little younger. Next step is to cut my hair shorter, and get some curl, that is supposed to help, too. But is was my choice, no one pressured me.

The prettiest gray hair I ever saw was on a woman at work. Her hair was steel gray, no other color, and she had it cut at chin level, and curled it under. She hated it, everyone else commented how distinctive it was, one of a kind.

Go have a make-over, go to a make-up expert to choose colors that compliment your skin and hair.Reassess your hair stlye, maybe something a little younger would make you feel that you have offset some of the aging you might be feeling from the gray hair.

Good luck.

grrrr . . . silver fox

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

Yes they can. Do whatever makes you feel good about yourself.

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

Honestly, no. Wait until you're 75 before you consider letting it go grey.

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

I am in the same situation!!! I am going gray naturally !!

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

Dye it silver.

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

You might look good with gray hair - I do not. I think it depends on if you have pretty gray hair or yellow-gray hair. It also depends on how you feel about yourself. If you're happy, nothing else matters. Personally, I'm having my done tomorrow!! Yay!! (I'm 36)

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

By all means...color your hair....you are still so young...and it will make you look years younger!

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

Keep coloring. Gray makes you look older, especially salt and pepper.

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

You might like it grey. I tried, and it made me look really old, so it was back to blonde

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

I know how you feel. I started greying when I was 22...that was 20 years ago. I never bothered to dye my hair because women tell me they like it that way. OK, I'm a man and you're a woman but I think a woman can be attractive with salt %26amp; pepper hair.

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

let it come out and see how it looks if you don't like it you can always go back to the dye or maybe streak it. hey and don't feel bad I am in the same boat 33 and grey

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

LOL ! When I stopped coloring mine for the same reason, I couldn't find the pepper....it was all salt. So I started coloring it again and haven't stopped since. Of COURSE women can be attractive with graying or even totally gray or white hair. I just don't happen to think I'm one of them. And since I'm my own worst critic, I'm the one I want to please most.

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

Of course a woman can, my Dear Lady! A woman is as attractive as she believes herself to be. I asked myself the same thing you're asking yourself. I decided that I earned every one of the little buggers, they look good and I'm going to let my own otter-coloured (light brown and now with a silvery undercoat!) hair be itself. It's time we took back middle age from women trying to pretend they're in their twenties and give it the dignity it deserves...well, as much as I can give it when I play on the swings....I can't resist them.

PLEASE don't think I'm denigrating women who colour their hair. I think if you like it great...I wish I could be a red-head...I just don't have the colouring for it....whiiiine.....

Should I stop coloring my hair and go with my natural salt %26amp; pepper color?

be thank full you still have hair

Hair rebonding then coloring.. will it unstraighten my hair or mess it up?

I got my hair rebonded/Japanese straightened whatever they're called.. I got it done in mid-august this year and i wanted to know if i can color my hair and not mess up the straightness of my hair. is it possible? and also then bleach the end parts of my hair.

Hair rebonding then coloring.. will it unstraighten my hair or mess it up?

It may or may no unstraighten your hair. But it will most likely dammage it quite severely.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Last year I colored my hair using a temporary formula that I bought in the drug store. I didn't bleach it or anything, just used a burgundy color. For the next few months I noticed that hair would fall out when I washed it. I'm not saying I went bald, but I did lose some hair, although I don't think it was obvious. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is normal. And is it permanent, or will it come back?

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

yes

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

No! not at all!

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

I color my hair a lot and I have the same problem. Don't know if it's normal or not, but it happens to me too. I haven't went without coloring my hair long enough to see if it's permanent or not.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

If you do it multiple times with multiple colours over your whole life

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

No, I've been dying my hair for 15+ years and my hair is still thick.

But I do think bleaching it can cause hair loss. My mom has bleached her hair for 25 years and she has to have weaves put in, because her hair falls out in clumps.

It's best to use natural hair products at the health food store and they come in lots of pretty colors.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

first yes you will lose your hair most likely if you keep dieing it you wont have any!!!! but i dont die my hair and it falls out so idk!!!!

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Only they not well branded products..

but any of those can still affect to hair loss, if u can sensitive skin and are not used to harmfull/chemical based products...

But intially a certain amount to hair loss is definite..so yes its normal..

but dont worry..your hair will grow back...

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

it could just be due to hormones - i dye my hair all the time and i go through stages where it will fall out excessively for a period and then not at all for ages

i have taken fertility drugs in the past in an attempt to become pregnant and i dont know if it was stress or hormones but it fell out a lot then

talk to your doctor but my experience is that stress or hormones can affect hair loss

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

It can cause your hair to fall out..

Any of that crap is full of chemicals that are unnatural to your body.. Your hair is beautiful the way God intended.. Those chemicals sink into your skin as well.. Every time you dye, curl, hair spray, heat, iron, tint, or perm, it damages your hair.. {:-)

%26lt;%26gt;%26lt;

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

I would need to know what brand you used but it is possible that your hair had a reaction to hte chemicals. It would be best for you to let a dermatoligist know about it and ask them if they can advise you on the next step to changing your hair color.I have been coloring my hair blond since i was 15 and im 24 now so thats almost 10 years. but i always use revlon colorsilk. it works the best for me.good luck

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Chances are, if it was strong enough to damage your hair, it would probably irritate your scalp as well. If your hair is long, it would look like you were losing more, than if your hair was shorter.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Some people have trouble with hair color. I would not recommend using any color if you did notice a hair loss. Do perms have an effect on you. Maybe ask the person who cuts your hair his/her opinion?

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Yes it can. Over time chemical saturation kills of the follicles in the scalp and some studies indicate that the brain can absorb these chemicals and lead to serious mental problems.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

shouldn't have done that, unless you had an allergy, but not likely on a semi colour. It might be that you noticed more as your hair is a different colour.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

hair will fall obviouly and it will fall more if u apply dem in ur hair roots

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

i dont think you can loose hair by colouring once

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

hi!!its known that the hair which falls..again grows..its like u keep on pluckin flowers and it keeps on growin..c. colourin is not that bad, and u havent bleached it..so dont worry..ur hair ll come back..take prper care.and apply oil..

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Any chemicals would cause hair loss

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Thanks for asking this question. I am having a problem, too and i just got my hair streaked and they used bleach. the problem is that i am not happy with it!!! And i am losing my hair!!! Thanks to robotica77 i will do what she suggested. I think that is ur best answer here!! I just hope i can fix this mess!!! Good luck with yours'.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Hair dye contains chemicals which damage the hair. If you leave it on too long, or dye to often, you can get really damaged hair and it can fall out. Stop dyeing your hair and give it a rest. It will grow back.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

The dye probably make your hair a little brittle, which made it break off and fall out more than normal. If you are going to color your hair, have it done professionally. Box colors aren't that great--I've done one before and it make my hair rough and dry. But, whenever I go to the salon, it looks fine. Just remember to take good care of it--moisturizing conditioners and shampoos along with getting it trimmed regularly.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Probably

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

bleaching can cause breaking at the roots, but not hair loss.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

It's natural for us humans to lose hair as it's part of the natural process, older hair falls out and new growth comes in. However, if it was noticable this time to you and had not been as much before dyeing it, I would suggest going to get your thyroid examined, and check for anemia, just in case.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

certain brands of color may indeed cause hair loss.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

Yes the chemical cause breakage. It shouldnt be enough to cause any problems but it does mean that you are damaging your hair.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

I have been dying my hair for eight years now. The only times I notice a dramatic hair loss is when I bleach my hair. You can also do a hair test. There should be directions for that on any hair coloring system. If you want to dye your hair again, I suggest that you go to a beauty salon and have them do it professionally.

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

no hair loss is caused either genetics or stress. dying is nevr good if you do it all the time, 1x month is not bad but if you change the color too drastically you will have to dye it more so do so either with highlights or just enough that as your hair grows it wont show so much that you can wait till next month or whenever you want a change again.

i have been dying for years and do so 4 x a year i have never had any promblems

you also need to change your shampoos though too, for the first 2 weeks you need a color gaurd and enriching conditioner this may help if not consult a hair dresser that you trust

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

sometimes it depends usually on the brand!

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

yes bitc.h.!!!!!!

Can coloring your hair cause hair loss?

It is normal to lose anywhere from75 to150 hairs a day. And if you used a temorary color that was like a stain and it didnt contain a peroxide or lifting agent then coloring it might not be the problem. If your diet has dramatically changed or if you have been super stressed that can also be a factor. Hope that info was helpful.

I have a question about coloring my hair.....?

Ok, i lightened my hair a couple months ago and had some issues with it. I obviously left the bleach on to long and fried my hair. The girl that does my hair had to cut a lot off and she taught me how to condition it and use cold water to rinse and such. Since then she has moved and i have no one i trust to do my hair. She said it would be atleast 8 weeks of deep conditioning before i could do anything to cover it up. Well, my roots are showing quite a bit and i want to color it one color, my natural color-as close as i can get and never touch it again!! Anyhow, is it safe to color it now?? My hair wont fall out?? And also, can i do it at home since i am just using a darker color??Would it be safe?? I really want to do something with it and like i said i have no one to do it.....i live in a very small town!! Thanks!!

I have a question about coloring my hair.....?

No, please dont. What happens is when your hair is damaged from bleach it will either soak it up and turn black, not take at all, or turn green. Its hard to say without seeing your hair. But I would not attemp it because most likely it will be a bad result and then your stuck. You wont be able to really fix it if its fried. A stylist would know exactly what would happen and know exactly what color to use. Going darker on bleached hair, I guarantee you would turn green. You would have to use a filler. Its actually a double process that I wouldnt advise anyone to try unless the had experience as a colorist.

I have a question about coloring my hair.....?

i suggest not to color again...pls coz i tried it and it can more damage ur hair.. Report It

I have a question about coloring my hair.....?

im really good with hair, and i think that you should start out with a little bit of color, then if it turns out great, add a little more, then keep adding until the amound you want is on :D

Coloring hair and getting a wave nouveau?

I am a black girl and I want to get my hair dyed and also get a wave nouveau [a curly perm]. Is this a good idea? and if it is, which one should I do first?

Coloring hair and getting a wave nouveau?

the wave nouveau sounds like a good idea, but i wouldn't get anything more than a couple highlights or a shade of darker brown with your hair color.

I have a question about coloring a clients hair?

I have a client who is a level 4 black and has been using a box color for years. She now wants to start having me color her hair with professional products. ( I use Shwartskoff) My question is should I try to use a color remover so I can put professional color on her roots and then work it through her ends the last 5 minutes of processing, or should I just color the roots for now to see if the box color fades? I just can't see why I should put a level 4 professional color over her box color. Any suggestions for all the fellow Hair Stylists out there. I would appreciate it.

I have a question about coloring a clients hair?

yeah, sounds good to me

I have a question about coloring a clients hair?

I would suggest that you do the last five minutes on the ends. If you don't you might change the ends a different color if you don't

Coloring frosted hair?

It started out as cool highlights - but two years later, the frosting process has made me almost a pure blonde, so my roots are too noticeable. I'd like to back to light brown - can't afford a professional colorist at the moment, so am curious about using a box color off the shelf. It's been over 6 months since I've had my hair frosted - the roots are getting to be a problem, and I'm tired of wearing my hair up every day. Can I color it safely, or will I turn it some strange color if I go from processed frosted blonde to brown? Thanks in advance!

Coloring frosted hair?

You can safely color it if you are going for the solid color. Just make sure that your color doesn't have an Ash base color to it especially if you are going from blonde to brown. It will turn your hair green. But other than that, you will do just fine.

Coloring my hair. garnier nutrisse?

ive never colored my hair myself before and im gonna dye it dark brown. im thinking about garnier nutrisse creme, does it work any good? does it do much damage to hair? is it easy to use and are the colors pretty accurate? thanx = ]

Coloring my hair. garnier nutrisse?

Garnier

Coloring my hair. garnier nutrisse?

If this is your first time coloring your hair you should think about it some more because once you dye your hair once you keep wanting to do it to get a better color. but if you have before go for it

Coloring my hair. garnier nutrisse?

Garnier is a permanent color. What color is your hair naturally? Are you trying to cover grey? Lighten the color? or just bored and want to try something new? The ONLY product from the shelves that are Temporary is Clairol Loving Care. It will darken your shade, will not lighten at all because it is the only product that does not contain peroxide..

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

Ok im 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant before i found out i was preggo i had highlights in my hair my roots are starting to show again i have a hair appt on the 9th of this month so would it be bad to re-do my highlights any suggestions??

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

they say it can get the baby, but my aunty, cousin and closet friend are all hairdressers and all said that during pregnancy it is safe to colour or highlight your hair just not too much and always tell your hairdresser prior to any treatment, but perms is a definate no no.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

yes, bad, no fumes!

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

Cancel and wait until after delivery. If breastfeeding, hold off even longer.

Adequate ventilation will not keep you from inhaling fumes and not all scratches on your head are visible, plus skin is an organ which absorbs... this includes chemicals...no need to have a scratch.

Your best option is a semi permanent color that uses no peroxide until you can do something more permanent.

The thumbs down are not aware of the harmful effects of chemicals on your skin or in the air or are ignorant to what they don't fully understand. Yes people get this done while pregnant all the time and assume it is safe, there are people who smoke too and state..."well my baby is fine" but that doesn't make it safe or ok.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

first of all u should not do ur hair in the first three months and in the last 2...yes it is bad for the baby and cancel the appointment

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

Well it's bad to inhale!!!

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

DON'T DO IT.YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DYE YOUR HAIR WHILE PREGNANT.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

No, it is not safe to dye your hair while you are pregnant. Deal with roots--it's worth it! :)

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

I have previously spoken to several hairdressers about this and they said you can still colour your hair. Sometimes during pregnancy your hair goes dry and brittle and thats why some people don't dye their hair. It is not going to harm your baby though.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

I've attended cosmetology school and had two children myself. coloring your hair is safe. dr's worry about any scratches in th scalp allowing the chemicals into your bloodstream and getting to the baby. your scalp is also more sensative. the hormonal changes in your hair can effect the chemical process, so make sure they do a test strand to make sure that your color pulls thru correctly and everything should be fine. if you're re-doing highlights by foiling or pulling thru a cap, the chance of you inhaling enough fumes to be harmful are slim to none.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

some people say it is and some say it isnt! so talk to your doctor!

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

it is prefectally safe as long as it doesn't contact your scalp, which highlights shouldn't. the only thing is that the color might not take as well because you are pregnant

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

I asked my doctor and he said that as long as the fumes don't bother me to go ahead. I've had my highlights redone twice now and am 35 weeks. My hairdresser makes sure she has all the ventilation on and said that highlights were best because it was a simple bleaching process that is not absorbed into the skin. ( A full head dye may be different) So go right ahead and get your hair done, just make sure you watch your inhilation. :) Congrats!

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

You can dye your hair while pregnant.

However you should wait until your second trimester.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

It is fine you can do it...just be sure that your hairdresser knows you are pregnant........and by the way Congratulations on the baby! God Bless and I hope all goes well, with the hair coloring and with the baby

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

My aunt does hair for a living and says the only bad things about dying/bleaching/streaking your hair is b/c your hormones change while pregnant that it can cause the color or what you are wanting to achieve not to come out the way you want, it could wash straight out or wash out shortly. Some women it doesn't do any of that. Yes the fumes shouldn't be too strong. She also said that if the dye/bleach touches your scalp then you are fine. The colors/bleaches are made safer nowadays then before so you will be fine. She did her hair and others w/all her kids and my mom and I have done our hair at all times during our pregnancies and there have been no side effects expcept maybe my hair came out darker or redder than I expected..lol

Good Luck and have fun w/your hair!!

Ya lizards about the chemicals in the air..even well ventilated..so what about going out in the REAL world..all the pollution from factorys, cars and other things. I dyed my hair tonight in my bathroom w/the vent on and it took me maybe 10 min. to do it and on went a shower cap. I'm on my 2nd pregnancy and have dyed my hair as early as 8-9 weeks until a few weeks before birth and have had no problems. Couldn't be any worse than any other things we do in a normal life. If hair dye or bleach was that bad for pregnant women then hair stylists and more would have signs or would notify customers that they will NOT do pregnant women's hair and doctors would give out pamphlets that would say to stay away from it. But I guess it's not that bad and my doc knows I do my hair b/c I tell her and my hair is different everytime I see her.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

My doctor told me that if I had to color my hair, not to do it in the first three months and do it at home. The stuff at home contains less ammonia and you can even get ones without it. Just make sure you have proper ventilation going. I have done my hair three or four times so far this pregnancy and nothing has happened. As far as going to a salon, I wouldn't because they use more chemicals.

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

It is perfectly fine to color your hair. I am 12 weeks and just asked my doctor 2 days ago. And she kinda laughed and said yes of course you can that is a myth! Just don't suck in the fumes. But the fumes are the only thing you have to worry about. It wont go thru the skin!

Coloring hair while pregnant bad???

I was wondering the same thing and in all the books I have read it states that it's not a problem, (unlike perming or straightning the hair) as long as you try to keep the colour off the scalp. So if you are having high-lights, just ask the colorist to start a few millimeters from the roots.

I would also avoid getting it done until you have passed your 12th week just in case.

Coloring my hair....?

I want to color my hair, I dont want it to be permanent, 3 days or so is how long I'm wanting the color for, does anyone know what I could use that would wash out easily and not "stain" my hair...I want to go from Brown to Blonde

Coloring my hair....?

it wouldn't be easy babe

sorry but the only way you can get the blond to come out properly is by bleaching..

you could try and use a semi-perminant blond which should come out in a couple of weeks but it might make it come out a gingery kind of colour

ask a hairdresser or someone who dyes their hair alot

good luck! x

Coloring my hair....?

yeah i agree with the perosn above - you can only really get this bleaching your hair. sorry :)

Coloring my hair....?

It is impossible to lighten your hair to blond from a darker shade using temporary color. It only deposits color, it will not make dark hair turn light. My suggestion is:

Maybe consider getting some highlights around your face that complement your skin tone/haircolor. Have your hairstylist go only one-half to one shade lighter than your natural color. This will provide some lightness without looking fakey- and it will be much less of a commitment than allover color, too- because the highlights will just grow out naturally and blend in with the rest of your hair.

I colored my hair yesterday but it came out too light, I was thinking of coloring again a shade dark

I had medium brown hair and I colored it sunlight brown, but looks like medium golden blonde. I like the color but it is too light for me, plus I want to add highlights. I plan to use dark blonde but I don't know what developer should I use. I only want to deposit color but I don't want it to be too dark. My question is should I use a 20 or 30 developer and how long should I leave it in? I don't want it to get too dark. I have colored my hair dark blonde before but it always came out too dark. But I figure now that my hair is lighter it might actually come out. what do you think?

I colored my hair yesterday but it came out too light, I was thinking of coloring again a shade darker.?

Get the box of color and use the toner only - mix it with 1/2 the amount of conditioner and keep looking at the color. Do not get another box of color and use it on your hair with the peroxide or bleach. That will destroy your hair. If you are going to do it that way - wait for 6 weeks and condition in the meantime.

I colored my hair yesterday but it came out too light, I was thinking of coloring again a shade darker.?

i think you should wait 3 weeks..before dyeing your hair a gain.

I colored my hair yesterday but it came out too light, I was thinking of coloring again a shade darker.?

Did you try just washing it out first? If you use Neutrogena Anti-residue shampoo almost right away, it could possibly get it out fast.

Otherwise, I'd try Natural Instincts. It's not a permanent so it won't destroy your hair. I put highlights in and it was bad, so to combat it, the next day I threw in a darker Natural Instincts and left it in for only 15 minutes. It fixed it enough until my head recovered and 2 weeks later I re-did my head with a different color.

You may want to wait a week or so before doing highlights...those can be rough on the scalp.

I colored my hair yesterday but it came out too light, I was thinking of coloring again a shade darker.?

idk what the answer to ur question is but just wanted to tell u, u should wait at least a month or two before u dye ur hair again and get the highlights.. cuz doing all they dying is like murder on ur hair... after u do it use conditioner and leave it in for about 2 minutes before u rinse it.

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

i have a natural dark kinda dirty blonde hair and i would like to die it and make it lighter but my mother won't let me do it with bleach or at a salon or a do it yourself kit or anything. is there any products that are natural and they kinda lighten the hair?

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

Whatever you do, Don't use Sun-In!!!! I guess colouring it something crazy like purple with koolaid is out? I think different things work with different hair types.

You can try chamomile tea to brighten it. Or a mix of lemon and lime juice (natural, not the concentrated stuff in the lemon and lime shaped bottles) put in a spray bottle and spritzed on hair. The apply a little bit of heat with a blowdryer. But just remember that this lightens by drying out your hair so it won't be as silky!

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

lemon juice...and sun in...sun in isnt really natural...but its not dye...and u can get it at like all stores like cvs... o and some ppl say sum in sux...i dunno why ...but i kno lots of ppl who hve used it...its Worked great!!!!

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

nothing

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

Lighenting your hair usually means "bleaching" it. Maybe mom can let you get lighter highlights.

That usually works for most of us dirty blondes

Love, MOM LOL Merry X-mas!

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

mix lemonade with lotion and rub it on your hair twice a day in about a week you`ll find your hair to be lighter

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

get purple shampoo. it is a really really dark purple color, it looks like hair dye, but it is legit shampoo, it illuminates the blonde in your hair making it brighter. I didnt think it would work, becuase it looks like hair dye but it does, you can find it at any hair care supplier, just ask the person at the counter.

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

Try lemon juice. REALLY, no lie.

Apply the juice to your hair *some people tell you to braid it so more hair is exposed* and go sit in the sun for a little while. The sun can bleach your hair on it's own, but the lemon juice will make it happen faster.

If you're more interested in something that is proven and you can buy for it, just take a walk down the hair-dye aisle at wherever you shop and I'm sure they'll have something that'll gradually lighten your hair. The gradual affect will make your ma think it just happened on it's own.

Or, the favorite option for rebellious teens, bleach it to platinum, behind her back with a bleaching kit *or two if your hair's long* that you buy from the store. Get a friend to help out and read the directions carefully. *i once dyed my guy-friend's hair fuscia for him. he got away with it for two weeks before he got caught*

Kinda coloring hair but not technicaly???

If your mums willing to let you use something natural i would say Henna. You can find it in heath food stores.

Will coloring my hair a lighter color make it sweat less?

I have dark brown, almost black relaxed hair. My scalp sweats alot, and it starts to smell sweaty after about 3 days. I can't wash it though, because if I was my hair more often than once a week it gets dry. Especially since I have to flat iron it every time I wash it. Talk about damage! So I was thinking about getting a lighter color for my hair, because since black attracts and retains heats, maybe a lighter color will reflect the heat and make it sweat less....Because right now, my hair only stays great throught the winter.

What do you think? Or what could I do to simply make it sweat less? Please keep in mind that I have relaxed hair people.

Will coloring my hair a lighter color make it sweat less?

I don't think the color would make a difference the tempeture and flat iron would. if you have thick hair maybe get it thinned?

Will coloring my hair a lighter color make it sweat less?

well for one, EEWWW! u only wash ur hair once a week?? thats nasty. you should wash it every day and use head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner. it will keep ur skelp not dry.

I'd go to a hair colorist immediately that specializes in these kind of disasters (yes, they're actually people who do that for a living, and make good money for it.) Read this blog (rant) about this.

http://www.killerstrands.blogspot.com/

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

Ok.. So I just colored my hair like and hour ago becuse when I colored it a few days ago it didnt change much.. so now after it dried it still didnt change after the 2nd time i did it.. So what should i do?? My hair is brown im drying to go lighter like maybe a dirty blonde..

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

If you're a natural medium to dark brunette, there are coloring kits especially made for you. Don't use it if you're hair is dyed brown though. If it'd dyed brown, you'll have to gradually lighten it a few shades at a time or risk damaging your hair.

Also, I just wanted to add that I have dyed and redyed my hair so many times in short periods (5 times in one week once) and my hair didn't fall out, I didn't go bald and I didn't get sick. My hair did require more conditioning, but getting a moisture rich conditioner is as easy as going to your corner drug store or Walmart. That being said, do be careful. Also, stripping your hair WILL leave your hair dry and brittle. I don't recommend it at all.

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

try going the next color brighter...it will look like the one under it...but wait til tomorrow to do that

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

why dont you bleach it i heard it damages your hair .. but the color defenetely will change ...hope i helped

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

First off... give your poor hair a break! It really shouldnt be chemically treated more than once every 3 months...otherwise it zaps the moisture and causes it to get extremely dry and brittle.

If you absolutely can't live without the color it is now, GO TO A STYLIST and ask her to strip your hair and then color it. Tell her exactly what color you want and ask her to give you a deep condition. After it's fixed, leave it alone for a while, it's probably fried.

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

You might want to seek professional help, like in a salon. You could try to leave it in longer though. It is also possible that you don't notice the difference, but someone else may.

It could also be the brand of dye you;re using. Some are cheaper quality than others, so they don't really work. Just be careful though. you don't want to dye it too much or it'll fall out.

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

Do not dye it again for at least 2 weeks because you are going to damage it. Go to the Loreal Colour experte website, they will ask you questions about what you would like in a hair shade and they will tell you what colors are best for you. The Loreal Colour Experte has hair color and highlighter in the kit, it is a 2 step kit and it is nice the colors are great

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

Try going a lighter color..but really, You are suppose to wait 4-6 weeks in between. Coloring damages the hair BAD!

Another suggestion, go to a professional hair dresser and see if they can help you.

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

Ok. you must Strip out color to get lighter. It will say lilghtener on the box. If it does not say lightener or bleach you will not get a lighter color. A dye will deposite color on your hair so you can only use it to go darker.

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

dye wont lighten it, you have to use a lightener to pull the color out

Coloring my hair.. dont know what to do..?

If you've tried color twice and it hasn't worked it's time to go to a good colorist. A few years back when they were doing chunking (thick streaks) Someone did mine and they came out orange. I wanted to cry but instead I went to the mall to a Carlton Salon and said "I need the best colorist you have!" Well three hours later I had a huge improvement. She lightened the orange color (the last person didn't leave it on long enough) and she added low lights (some darker streaks) and I got alot of compliments. When you've hit rock bottom it's time to go to a pro. Good luck.

Qustions on Coloring your hair....type of color and a filler?

I'm going to color my hair tonight but I'm a little worried about the information that the lady at Sally's store told me last night because she was very ditzy. Right now i have dark brown hair with black and Carmel/blondish highlights. I want to go all one color and i want it to be a dark dark brown. I want it to be somewhere between dark brown and black, just not black of course. I try to pick dark colors because my hair tends to fade fast so this way my dark brown hair will fade to a nice brown. Last night when I talked to the lady at Sally's she gave me a bottle of 2V and a bottle of 3V. She told me if i mixed the two bottles of color that i would come out with my own creation that will be exactly what I'm looking for. Also she told me because i have blonde in my hair i need to put a filler over my hair about 20 min before i dye it this will prevent my highlights from showing through the brown. She gave me i believe a violet base filler and then a bottle of 20 volume creme.

Qustions on Coloring your hair....type of color and a filler?

i would definitely suggest using a filler over the blonde. however, youre still going to have the black lowlights in your hair because color doesnt lift color. the only way youre going to cover them up is to color your whole head the dark black color. with mixing the colors, that sounds very uncalled for. i would just pick which of the colors you like best.

Been coloring my hair for 4 yrs Black and now want to go back to blonde. Can it be done?

I am a natural blonde, but I have been dying my hair black for 4 years now. Thats right, out of the box too. And I know how bad that is to get out of your hair. My hair is beautiful and healthy. Its past my shoudlers as well.

Here's what I was thinking. Let me know if it will work.

I thought I would bleach my hair and then cut off say 10" or so. Or cut it then color it. The only reason I am cutting it is because there is no way my hair can survive such a radical bleaching session. I want long hair. I want my blonde back, but at this time I can't have both because I will sacrifice the health of my hair to make it lighter.

So if I go from having long dark hair to short dark hair, will it be that difficult to get the black out by bleaching it?

(cannnot strip my hair. Tried twice. Didn't work)

Coloring My Hair Soon: Would Like to Expierment With Wild Colors: Need Steps from Professional Please...?

Normally you start with dark hair and bleach it. Then you would apply the color. It's a double process color. Since your hair is light and you are darkening it, It will be more difficult to lift that color. If you go to a professional it can be done. The down side is that this can really damage the hair. I have locs with blue %26amp; purple tips, my hair color is naturally dark brown. It can be acheived and the color will need to be reapplied to those bleached areas after a certain number of washings because you normally use a rinse that will lose color with each shampoo. Hope that helped, feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.

Black color is really hard to get out-mine is naturally black, and when I tried to get blue highlights at the salon we couldn't get all of the warmth out and they ended up green. I worked there at the time so we ended up just coloring it all black at the end. So I'm just afraid with how dark your hair is in the pic that the blues could end up green and the reds will almost definately end up orange. Especially if the color you're using at home has metallic dyes because those are almost impossible to get out. But the 1 good thing about black hair like with what happened with mine you can always cover it up with black if you don't like it.

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

I have light brown hair that is more on the dark side. Golden streaks. I want my hair to be blonde. Like beach blonde. How can I do that without coloring. I've heard there are tricks but I don't know any. HELP!!

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

Jessica,

Peroxide will work, but if your hair has any red tint to it at all, it will come out red, or strawberry blonde.

Sun In works pretty well, or other bleaching products like that, but it's really hard to get darker brown hair to be bleach or platinum blonde without getting it professionally done.

Been there, done that....good luck!

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

Try Sun In and or Lemon juice

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

peroxide,and a blowdryer works wonder

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

keep dreaming...when you are done wake up and color it!!! If you want to save money just put peroxide in it!!!

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

BE out in the sun a LOT. It worked for me.

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

Natural sun lighten my hair but definetly can't do a beach blonde with out some sort of dye or coloring product.

Even then, if you do end up using a product, depending on how dark your hair, it may turn out to be orange, so be careful.

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

the only way to go from dark to light hair in one day is to bleach it, but i wouldnt recommend that because bleaching damages your hair REALLY bad...the safe way is to keep dying it every other month without bleach until you acheive the color u want

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

lots of swimming in a pool does the trick. the chloring and the sun create a like bleaching affect. some one also told me peroxide, not the hydrogen, alsthough hydrogen peroxide is good for cleaning your cuticles.

Lemon juice and beer are another way. but all these solutions depend on the depth of your original hair color...

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

Too much Sun, could actually cause your skin to look bad, and you ahve to decide if that will look right, if your eyebrows are dark, it wouldnt look right to have your Hair Lighter than your eyebrows.

You should try Peroxide, and then drying it, to make it a bit lighter next time you go tanning or go outside, put lemon juice in it. :) i hope i helped you at all.

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

lemons wet your hair squeeze lemon juice on it and sit in the sun but you have to do it many times

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

swim around in a highly chlorinated pool in the morning as your daily exercise. That will lighten and kill you hair at the same time!

How can you make dark hair blonde without coloring it?

I would probably use henna. Its all natural and will not damage your hair like peroxide would. You can either buy the regular henna and add lemon juice to it. Or you can buy blonde henna itself. There is a company called Rainbow Henna that makes several shades of color, including Persian Blonde. It probably won't bleach your hair but it will lighten pretty well. Also, keep in mind that it will take several trys to get it to be lightened. I would also recommend adding conditioner to the henna so that your hair will come out both lightened and sleek. I hope this helps and good luck.

P.S. Don't use peroxide because it will damage your hair. ALways look for natural ways because you will always find something that works for you.
