Can I dye my hair blonde after coloring it a medium brown?

Well, I just read some answers to similar questions and it looks like the only thing I can do is have a stylist strip out the color and then bleach my hair...has anyone had this done and had good results?? Everything I've read sounds like it left their hair feeling like straw...thanks for any responses.

I've had my hair stripped many times. I change my color all the time. It does put your hair in a bad place. But just condition it well for about a week and it'll bounce back to health. Just make sure a professional does it.

yah, the stylist will have to take care of that for you. since you're going from a darker color to a lighter one. if you have a toni and guy anywhere near you GO THERE. every one i've been to does amazing hair and it never feels like straw. i've changed my color about 4 times just in the last year! lol

The one thing that you have to watch about coloring your hair blonde is red pigmentation. If you have any red pigments in your hair what-so-ever you take the chance in having a red tint to your hair. I recommend waiting at least 3 weeks before dying again to prevent damage. If you want to go all blonde, I would go have a stylist do it. If you want just highlights then you can do them yourself. I like the herbal essence highlighting kit. I have red pigments in my hair but the highlighting kit turned out fine.
