Question about hair dye or coloring?

I am just curious if anyone can explain WHY dark hair dyes or coloring will stain any part of skin on your body EXCEPT for your scalp?

oily scalp resist color that is why it cannot be stained. if you shampoo well before coloring your scalp could be stained too. The scalp has more oil than the skin on your extremities.

it can temporarily stain your scalp but not for long because your scalp produces a proctective oily barier more so than other parts of skin. Likewise, if u are trying to prevent staining other parts of ur skin, such as forehead or ears, put a layer of vasoline on parts tempted for a mess to be on before coloring and it will wipe right off with the vasoline when u are finished.
