I want to dip the tips of my hair in food coloring [not sure what color to do] will it wash out? Or will it dye my hair? HELP [: please.

Depending on whether your hair is already highlighted or not. If the hair follicle is processed and open, it may take a little longer to wash out. I would say don't do it. You could end up with green or orange hair. The only way to get rid of it would be to bleach your entire head white, to strip the color out. Then they would need to add color back in (unless you like white hair) a two part process(very expensive and very damaging)

Food coloring will wash out. In fact, it'll probably wash out a few days after you put it on your hair, anyways. Usually, dying your hair that way is for short-term purposes.

If you're wanting a long-lasting color, then I'd suggest getting some Special Effects hair dye or Manic Panic. You can find those at your local Sally's Beauty Supply.

too funny, because i did it to my mom a few years ago for st. patricks day (green) and it had to GROW OUT. we tried everything to get it out - it didn't work.

if you are only doing the tips it shouldn't be much of a problem. you can always get it cut out.
